Today is my birthday. The thing that stinks though is that it's right now 11:35AM and I'm at work, yes, on my birthday I'm at work until 2PM, this really stinks! I have to say though, yesterday was a blast. A friend of mine took me to a race track out in Alabama called "Little Talladega". It's a road course designed mostly for motorcycles so it's pretty short, but it's a pretty well balanced short course for cars. There were around 10 cars there and in groups of three we all went out on the track and just ran around as much as we wanted (or our cars could handle). I got to do everything from pull 1.2 lateral Gs in a street legal, race tuned Mini Cooper S to going 140mph and getting there in under 8 seconds in a Ferrari 599GTB and then slowing down to less then 50mph again in under 5 seconds. I even got to ride in a 1990 Porsche 911 with a 12 year old karting champion behind the wheel, let me tell you his name is Sean Rahal and you guys who are into racing better start looking for this kid as he moves up in the racing classes. He is going to be starting Formula Mazda in the next few years and probably moving on from there. One day we may see him in Foruma1, in fact after that ride yesterday, there is no doubt in my mind we will be seeing him one day in that racing series. That, so far has been the best birthday present ever, it was absolutely amazing. But today seems dull in comparison. I am at work here for another 2 hours and afterwards I'm going home to celebrate my birthday with my parents. Which, by the way, reminds me, my mom wanted me to let her know when I got home where where I wanted to go for dinner so I need to look something up.
